Why you lookin’ like a powdered donut sis?

Let’s talk powders!

If you are using the wrong powder to set your face, you may notice that powdered donut look. Heavy powders magnify the fine lines on our faces. Always follow the less is more rule.

Powders are used to mattify the skin. Oil production slows as we get older. Some powders start to look dry, ashy, and dusty on our skin. This can also age you far beyond your years. To have a youthful glow try these tips instead.

1. Use setting spray instead of powder to keep your makeup in place.

2. Make sure you moisturize before applying your makeup. Some fine lines can be reduced or eliminated with extra hydration from your moisturizer

3. Use a liquid foundation with light-reflecting particles

4. Use cream blushes and bronzers

Pro Tip: For setting powder, I use the MAC mineralized skin finish powder. It’s lightweight and doesn’t look cakey on the face.
